Trees

Trees located on boulevards are the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. It is the owners responsibility to ensure that any branches overhanging the road or sidewalk are trimmed to an acceptable height. The property owner must also maintain any trees that overhang the back lane. Once a year Town Crews will trim all trees overhanging the roadway and back lanes in Claresholm. No notice will be given, as this job is done as time allows. If you would not like the Town to trim the trees, ensure they are maintained at an acceptable standard.

Trees located on Town owned properties are maintained by the Town Crew. Tree trimming, removal, and planting are done at the Towns discretion.

The Town of Claresholm currently operates a tree planting program where Town staff plant upwards of 50 new trees each year.

Weeds

The Town of Claresholm has a weed control program in place. Twice a year a private contractor will spray the large park and green spaces of Claresholm. With a licensed applicator on staff, the Town is able to maintain smaller green spaces as well as spot spray as need throughout the year.

NOTE: The Bark Park is not sprayed for weeds. The Town is committed to keeping this area as natural as possible by allowing native plants to thrive.
